ArbDB Chambers Members John Wright, Mark Appel, Paul Rose, George Grant And Michael Cover Attend And Speak At The Kuala Lumpur International ADR Week (KLIAW).

Five members of ArbDB Chambers, John Wright, Mark Appel, Paul Rose, George Grant and Michael Cover, together with Clerk, Martin Poulter, travelled to the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA) for the KLIAW from 15-17 May 2017.

 

The event was attended by over 200 professionals from the region and beyond and the keynote speech was delivered by Minister Azalina Othman Said on the opening day. ArbDB Chambers Members undertook the following speaking and moderating slots:-

There was a successful Gala Dinner on Wednesday 16 May 2017 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.  This was sponsored by ArbDB Chambers.  At the Gala Dinner, the announcement was made by the Director of the KLRCA, Datuk Professor Sundra Rajoo, that the KLRCA and ArbDB Chambers had agreed that ArbDB Chambers would be establishing an office in the KLRCA in Kuala Lumpur.  The agreement was signed at the Dinner by Datuk Sundra and John Wright.

ArbDB Chambers Chairman, Tony Marks, commented:

“We at ArbDB Chambers are delighted further to develop our relationship with the KLRCA and the region generally.  The ‘Belt and Road (Silk Route) Initiative’ will see tremendous opportunities for ADR neutrals and Kuala Lumpur is a perfect base from which to exploit these opportunities”.
