London Centre Of International Law Practice (LCILP) Conference

The London Centre of International Law Practice (LCILP) will be holding a conference in Central London on 7th-8th March 2016, followed by a day of executive workshops on 9th March 2016.

The conference will focus predominantly on issues arising out of political instability within the Middle East and Africa, as well as the impact of the recent decline in oil prices upon the energy sector. Other topics of discussion include, but are not limited to: the impact of renewable energy development on the energy industry, striking the balance between state sovereignty and investor certainty, as well as the repercussions of lifting sanctions on Iran.

The workshops will cover international boundary disputes, investment treaty disputes, gas price disputes and the possibility of designing a bespoke dispute resolution system for energy disputes in the Middle East and Africa.

The conference is directed by Brandon Malone, one of LCILP’s highly regarded experts and co-director of the International Centre for Energy Arbitration. Conference attendees and speakers include policy makers, government representatives, national and international energy companies, arbitration institutions and energy organisations, as well as practitioners and academics.
