ArbDB Chambers Collaborates With The Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre For Arbitration (KLRCA) On The KLRCA Mediation Forum

ArbDB Chambers was one of the main contributors to the KLRCA Mediation Forum, which was organised by the KLRCA in collaboration with leading ADR institutions, including the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and the International Mediation Institute (IMI). The Forum explored mediation and its development in the Asia Pacific Region, with a keynote speech by the former Chief Justice of Malaysia, YBhg Tun Dato’ Seri Zaki Bin Tun Azmi, and a welcome speech by the Director of the KLRCA, Datuk Professor Sundra Rajoo. The Forum was held on Thursday 24 November 2016.
ArbDB Members, Mark Appel, Paul Rose, Wolf von Kumberg, John Wright and Michael Cover along with UK-based mediator, Sheila Bates, participated in panels and a mock mediation, moderated by Mark Appel. The mock mediation also featured the Director General of the CIArb, Anthony Abrahams. The lineup was completed by leading ADR practitioners from across the Asia Pacific Region.
The Forum attracted over 100 delegates at the KLRCA’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, who all enjoyed and contributed to a lively panel and debate session before the close of the Forum.
