Three members of ArbDB chambers -- Julia Sullivan, Robert Sliwinski, and Stephen Hibbert – were invited to speak at Pakistan International Disputes Weekend (PIDW) in Islamabad, Pakistan on 11-12 October 2025.

Since its launch in 2022, PIDW has become Asia’s leading dispute resolution conference. The 2025 PIDW line-up addressed a wide set of topics, all with the central focus of avoiding and resolving disputes arising from China’s $100 billion investment in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Julia Sullivan and Stephen Hibbert participated in a panel discussion entitled “The Contractor’s Roadmap: CPEC Disputes, FIDIC Contracts and ICC Arbitration”. Julia addressed key risks in public-private infrastructure projects, while Stephen addressed the interpretation of rights, obligations, and remedies under FIDIC contracts.

Julia participated in three additional events: (1) the inaugural meeting of the Global South ADR Alliance, (2) the CIArb  Regional Chairs Plenary Session and Working Group Roundtable, and (3) a panel discussion entitled “Capacity, Credentials, and Connections: CIArb’s Role in Global Arbitration Entry.”

Robert Sliwinski moderated a panel discussion entitled “Arbitration Across Sectors: Has the World Moved Away from Traditional Litigation Practices?” The panel addressed dispute resolution in Pakistan’s construction, energy, finance, technology sectors and sports sectors. This highlighted the different approaches in the different sectors that the panel discussed and how disputes are generally resolved.

The conference was attended by over 250 people with a significant contribution from international speakers, representing government, industry, dispute resolution experts, and regional arbitral institutions.

ArbDB’s presence confirmed Chambers’ global role and reputation in multi-faceted dispute management and conflict resolution practice.
